What is a typical day for a working parent at Bakersfield Parent Nursery? 8:45am-9:00am Working parents arrive and set- up 9:00am-9:20am Outside play 9:20am-10:00am Finish prep work for projects while students are in Morning group time 10:00am-10:45am Assit students with Projects and constructive play 10:45am-11:00am Set up snack while students are in Story time 11:00am-11:10am Bathroom Break 11:10am-11:25am Snack 11:25am-11:50am Daily cleaning, vacumming, bathrooms and taking out trash, Outside play 11:50am-12:00pm Clean-up outside toys and prepare to go home
How often would I work in the classroom ? Twice a Month for each BPN student you have.ie If you have one child depending on your childs class schedule you may work every other Monday. Can I stay in the class on my NON Workday ? Yes
What do I need to bring for my snack day and How often will I be responsible for snack ? Parents provide snacks on a rotating basis for their child's classroom. Snack provided should be nutritious and should include at least two items each one from a different category of the following food groups: fruits and vegetables,dairy products proteins, bread and cereal products. Plates,napkins,cups and utensils should also be probided for the children,teacher and working parents. It is required that any fruit drink be 100% juice. Please let working parent know where snack is located. Please avoid bringing any items that could be a choking hazard,such as hot dogs,whole grapes,nuts seeds,dried fruit,peanuts, popcorn,or chunks of meat that can be swallowed whole. BPN is a PEANUT FREE SCHOOL
Does BPN have field trips? Field trips are planned as an enrichement activity of the children's program. Participating memebers scheduled to work the day of the field trip are expected to still perform participating member activities unless otherwise told by the director or teacher. It is not the school's resposibility to transport children to or from the field trip activites. It is the parents responsibility to find other means of transportion should the parent not be able to attend. On most outings other siblings are welcome to attend with the teacher's permission. Parents will recieve advance notice of all excursions and may keep their children home if they choose not have him/her participate.
What is my Fundraising obligation ? One parent of each family will be required to work all mandatory fundraising activities. Families with more than one child enrolled are required to work one hour per child during all madatory fundraisers. If a parent is unable to participate in a fundraisng activitiy, members may pay fee or provide extra service to the school. The Board shall determine the fee or services provided. Each family has several options to meet their fundraising obligation of $100 per child per program. 1 Paricipate in Scrip Program 2 Paricipate in planned fundraisers throughout the year. 3$100 check made payable to BPN by end of March 4 A monthly payment plan of $12.50 per month We strongly encourage each family to sign up for SCRIP.This is an easy way to raise money towards your fundraiing obligation.
What Programs do you offer ? BPN offers a class for students ages 2-3 years olds and PreK 4-5 years old. The 2-3 year olds meet twice a week and have the option of a Tuesday/Thursday class or a Wednesday Friday Class. PreK class meet Three times a week Monday/Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday/Friday Class times are from 9am- 12pm
Can someone other than a parent work ? Immediate family mebers may pariticpate in the classroom:mom,father,aunt,uncle,grandparent,greatgrandparent or sibling over 18 years of age. Any participating family member must have a current TB test. Participating parents must be in good physical health. This includes being able to sweep,rake,mop vacuum bend and lift 25lbs. BPN offers a non-participating option for parents unable to meet this requirement.
What are the tuition fees? TUITION FEES Two - day program..............................................................$115/month Three - day program............................................................$145/month Second Child Discount........................................................$15/month The full amount is required for the oldest child enrollled and a $15.00 discount off the tuition amount is allowed for each additional child from the same family enrolled two or more days per week. LateTuition..........................................................................$25 Tuition is due on the 1st of the month. A $25 late fee should be paid in addition if tuition is paid after the 7th. NON-PARTICIPATION FEE................................................$50/month
What are the Registration fee's? REGISTRATION FEE $ 60.00 This fee is due annually for each student; it covers insurance, council dues, and enrollement forms. This fee is due when application for entry is made. For families registering for the upcoming school year prior to June 1st , a $10.00 discount is given. For families registering after January 31st for that school term, registration will be prorated. Registration is NON-REFUNDABLE
How often do you have parent meeting ? Monthly parent meetings are held for parent education and the transaction of necessary bussiness. The meetings are generally held on the second Monday evening of every month at 7:00PM.One parent is required to attend.Both parents are encouraged to attend.
Can my younger children attend on my workday ? No child under the age of two years will be allowed in attendance on the parent's scheduled participation day. What is SCRIP ?
What is my Maintenance day obligation ? Each Family shall particiapate in one maintance day per year toward the maintenance,cleaning,repair or other service to the school and its equipment. Each family will submit a deposit ( a postdated $75.00 check) at the time of registration, to be returned upon completion of their maintenane day.
