BPN has set their own requirements for their teachers that are double that of the state requirements. Our educational requirements are more than Bakersfield College as wellas the local Head Start programs. The state licensing board requires preschool teachers to have a minimum of 12 units. Our school requires 24, plus you must take one continuing education class per year or attend a child development conference. We believe education for teachers never stops and should grow and change as our families and communities evolve. Our Teachers:
Cindy Villa -- Miss Cindy has been with the Co-op since 1991. The first year she was a teacher and then became director the following year. She has received her Children's Teacher Permit and Site Supervisor Permit from Bakersfield College. She has completed her course work through Bakersfield College for these programs as well as follow-up and continuing education courses from Cerro Coso college. Miss Cindy believes in the co-op philosophy of parent involvement with their child's education. If children feel mom and dad think school is a fun place to hang out, they will soon follow with the same joy and anticipation of each school day. Miss Cindy teaches Pre K Monday/Wednesday/Friday
Debbie Frazure - Miss Debbie came to the school in 1992. As a parent, she served on the board and then joined the teaching staff. She has worked with the our little ones for the last 14 years. She received her education in Child Development from Bakersfield College and Columbus College. Miss Debbie has a special gift with our little ones. They respond very well to her love and expectations that she has for each of them. Miss Debbie teaches 2-3 year olds class. Tuesday/Thursday and Wednesday/Friday
Holly Brown - Miss Holly came to BPN in 1994. As a parent, she also served on the board and joined the teaching staff in 2001. Miss Holly has taken classes through Bakersfield College and Valley Community College. Miss Holly has taught our little ones and the Pre-K class. You can hear Miss Holly laughing across the playground. She loves the children and the chance to make many new friends each year with the parents. Miss Holly teaches PreK Monday/Tuesday/Thursday |
